RHL 1950 GM shop truck project
This is a little 52 GM 1/2 ton pick up truck that my Dad has been wanting to restore for the last 20+ yrs but he just never had the time to do it.
So I decided that this year I will restore it for him....My father is the reason I got involved in everything Kustom (cool cars, trucks, bikes..anything with wheels!) As soon as I was old enough to be in the shop he started teaching me about kustomizing cars, welding, fabrication, body work, engine work etc. So as a thank you to him for the skills and all of the great experiences he has given me over the years , I want to make his dream of driving his "old Chevy" come true.
We are going to do a "resto rod" build with the truck(all original body/drivetrain/suspension but with nice modern wheels/tires)
This will be a three generation project(my Dad, myself,my son) ...just like when I was a kid following my dad working on cars in my grandfathers garage...so this will be our truck and it will serve as the Official RHL KUSTOMS shop truck as well so it will be a very special project me. As you can see this will take some time to do but I'll start off here by showing you what we have to work with and we'll show you the progression of the build as time goes on...As soon as spring time comes around and the snow goes away, we will completely disassemble the body cab parts, frame, suspension to sand blast everything and then start the rebuilding process(replacing rusted sheetmetal, redoing all the suspension etc)
So here it is just as it's been sitting for the last 20+yrs....Let the fun begin.. ..Oh and when it's all done...I'll build a cool RHL bike that will match the truck to put in the rear box to kruise around with....

Yes..but nothing we haven't done before....The cool thing about building something (cars, bikes etc) and putting a lot of work into it, is the awesome feeling you get when it's all done and you get to drive it for the first timeHptm hat geschrieben:hard work dude!!!

Thanks Franki!
You bet, I can't wait to start working on it!
This is pretty much the overall look we want to achieve... I just have to convince my dad into letting me drop it low to the ground like this one....

We just need to wait about 1 month and 1/2 or so for the snow to melt because the wheels of the truck are frozen in the ground.....
Thanks for the nice wishes guys!
